NOLA Cajun Kitchen Reviews

We love it! Fried oyster or shrimp poor boy and you can't go wrong. Can't wait for crawfish season!

1st time there today, we will be back over and over. The food from the double fried Cajun fries to a perfect roll full of fresh ingredients to Catfish & Oyster Po Boy's shows their pride in quality food. Plus Po Boys can be messy but these didn't fall apart, they were just right. Not shy with Catfish or Oysters that were fried in tasty but not heavy batter. It's takeout in cold weather but quaint outdoor area when weather is nice. The cooks were friendly and helpful too. Do yourself a favor and try this place out. Ps- had a meat pie too, flaky, delicious and just enough heat.

I just had Oysters and blacked shrimp at Nola at the Big E and I was completely unprepared for what I got. The food at the Big E has gotten better but this was some next level stuff. I can't remember having oysters that fresh. Like I would serve them to Iron Chef Japan and not blink an eye. Also the Blackened shrimp was something you would have at a nice restaurant and not fair food. It saw strange to eat it and look at the fair food. You could eat at this place and close your eyes and picture yourself at a beach resort in New Orleans.

Mind you this is first time in Western Massachusetts & at The Big E but it's not to be overlooked because the place matches similar places which do Cajun/Creole style food especially N'Awlins way. I opted first for a crab cake & chicken etouffe with shrimp/okra & overall pleasantly hitting everything I'd want & okay the music is modern hip-hop but it's one you can enjoy plus okra with the cooking style I see why it's a staple.

So I made a late night run in the boilstoin area. So I stopped by no laws again to grab a quick bite. It was late and they were about to close. However, they still provided amazing service all of the food was great But I don't know why they can not seem to get their Pasta, right? It was still not hot, but I would still recommend this place. Because the food still tasted absolutely amazing.

Another great meal at NOLA!!! Looking forward to their new place that will have indoor dining, which will be nice when the weather is bad!!

That NOLA gumbo is definitely authentic gumbo! It has a little bit of spice, but nothing that's too spicy! The flavor is definitely on point! If you want it more spicy, they have authentic Louisiana hot sauce there to add to it. But take a few bites without, and enjoy that flavor! I also had popcorn crawfish, which were pretty good, but it's the sauce that comes with it that makes it! The breading is just like that make it in Louisiana, like a cornmeal base versus a flour base. Lastly, I had a nice sized softshell crab, which was awesome. The batter could probably use a little bit more seasoning, but it was still very good. This place is definitely on my list to visit when I come back again to the area!

Fantastic little escape for Cajun style food. Selections are numerous, and most of the dishes can have the Cajun spice dialed up or down to your liking. Trust me, if you're a first timer, stick with mild for the garlic noodles. If you like New Orleans style heat, go medium or hot! You'll be satisfied. Very limited seating at the West Boylston shop, and winter time its really take-away more often. Shrewsbury shop has ample seating. Walk-in, select your food online by your phone or in-house touchpads, and bingo, relax and enjoy the Louisiana foods. Very friendly and knowledgeable and attentive owner, whom I think is a workaholic. Not overpriced, and plenty in each serving. Go for it!
